2012: The Fastest Growing Professions
January 18th, 2012 Filed under: Career Advice — Career Advice AuthorNo CommentsThe outlook on our current economy is so unsteady that every student must ensure that their field of study will help them reserve a job when they graduate. Before they consider which school to attend, they should think about the jobs most likely to grow over the next ten years. Fortunately, it is now easier than ever to earn a degree. The expansion of the Internet has made earning a bachelor’s degree faster and more rewarding than ever. Many accredited institutions now provide online courses allowing students to enter the world of business with an online degree. Here’s a list of the fastest growing professions in 2012 that will help the student make an informed choice:
1. Biomedical Engineer: Biomedical engineers apply engineering intelligence to biology and medicine and help in enhancing and advancing healthcare practices. The healthcare industry is already on a roll these days and it has not even been touched by the recession. It makes solid sense for a student to invest in this course.2. Computer Software Engineer: Every application’s moving online with a vengeance and most businesses are opening up offices globally. Computers have become an indispensable part of life and their usage continues to surge around the world. Newer software applications, mobile applications and social media tools are making it easy for people to stay informed, connected and entertained. The student must realize that a computer software engineer will always be in demand.
3. Management Analyst: Businesses are becoming technically and culturally complex by the day. Today, the world is in an economic crisis because of poor quality management. A savvy student must understand that management analysis ultimately helps develop better management skills and therefore helps create better-managed companies. If he is inclined towards business, he can choose this course.
4. Physician Assistant: A physician assistant is like a doctor who has not attended med school. All physician assistants administer therapies under the supervision of a licensed doctor. Moreover, states are now allowing physician assistants to take on higher responsibilities. This is one of the fastest growing careers around. All physician assistants must first obtain a science degree though.
5. Home Health Aide: America’s aging population is on the rise. By 2050, America will be home to 88 million people who are over 65 years. Better healthcare has increased longevity and as people age, they need healthcare delivered at their doorstep. This is another career that will remain in high demand in the time to come.
These are some of the fastest growing professions. A student must choose a course that reconciles with his interests instead of enrolling a course because it is in demand. Every student must choose his career carefully and wisely.
