Chicago has many different institutions of higher learning at the college level to choose from. Those who want to have a culinary or art education have many options to choose from. Those who want to go to one of the best universities in the world have a local option in Chicago as well. Along with all of these choices, there are community colleges where students can get a great start to their college education at a low price. That is why students in the Chicago area have a lot of great choices inĀ Chicago colleges.

When it comes to going to the best Chicago colleges, one of the most popular choices is the University of Chicago. This is a well known research institution that has a large graduate school population as well as an undergraduate program. Because of the high demand to attend this institution, it can be very difficult to gain admissions to this school at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The school is generally looking for students who show a thirst for knowledge while having a past academic record that shows success in learning and developing talents. Those who are able to gain admission should be proud since less than 20% of applicants are admitted.

Those that want to enter a specific profession such as cooking will want to look at specific schools designed for certain career fields such as Kendall University for the culinary arts and hospitality industries. The Art Institute is also excellent for many of the art programs including digital animation. There are many other choices with regards to Chicago colleges for those who already know what career fields they want to study at the university level.

Those who don’t know what they want to do can attend school as an undeclared student at either the community colleges or at schools with many major programs such as the University of Chicago. There are many good Chicago colleges for those who don’t know what they want to major in. High school students should definitely take their time and research all of the wonderful institutions and opportunities that are located in the Chicago area.
